The Guys who take care of the Girls!!!

This is my newest collection. I was never a fan of the 12 inches action figures because i thought they were very bulky and not detailed enough until i found a website where i could see the detailed pictures of some of the Star Wars figures they had. Of course, these are not the figures you buy in Toys r Us or any toy store. in fact the box says these are for collectors 15 and up and of course they are not cheap at all. I decided to buy one and then they came out with the GI Joe line and again, the rest is history.

One day i finally decided to try the military figures, the brand I bought is Hot Toys, they are a Chinesse company and with limited distribution, but the detail of the figures is amazing!!!

I'm collecting 3 brands, Military, StarWars and GI Joe.

So here they are. Enjoy!!!

Hello Halo!!!

I don't have an Xbox (weird right? but for some reason I never liked it and i stayed with the Playstation) and I have never played Halo, but the action figures are soo cool i had to have them.
They have multiple models (OSDT, EVA, ODT, etc) but what is cool about them is they come in different colors and some are just available from certain resellers, so for example the metal color is an Gamestop exclusive, the gold is a FYE exclusive and so on, and also they are made in small quantities (around 1500 for the hard to find colors like pink). so it gets very tough to get them all.

I finally managed to get all of the colors so here are the pics.

YO JOE!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, after i started with the few Star Wars figures just for the memories, Hasbro decided to release the 25th anniversary figures of GI Joe and because they were part of my collection when I was a kid, I decided to buy just a few again, just for the memories. I bought like 5 and then another one and then another until i got to the point i had to have them all.

These were before the movie and based on the original series. I'm not collecting the ones from the movie (I know, I know, that's what I said before and still did it but so far so good I just bought a few and that's it) but I have all of the 25th anniversary and modern era figures.

I just re-organized my office and i put them back (they were all in a box for quite some time) so here's part of my collections of GI Joes. you have seen the vehicles in other pictures so I'm not going to write about them, but in these pictures you will see only some of them, I have around 130 more figures still in the box and I just put my favorite ones.

Total number of Joes = 230
Average cost per figure = 7.00
People reading this and thinking how crazy I am = Priceless
Besides, buying and selling action figures can give you a lot of profit. I just sold 2 GI Joe figures on Ebay for 90.00!!! wanna see? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190339634679&ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT

Instead of putting all the pictures, I used Windows Live Photo gallery to create a panoramic view with all of them, so click in the pic to see the details.

Stormtroopers and more

This is my Star Wars collection. When I was a kid, I used to collect every Star Wars figure that came out, but i sold all of them (around 100) for a few dollars (well, Mexican Pesos) long time ago.

When I started to collect again i just focused on Stormtroopers and pilots so I try to have one of each. I have some Jedis and Siths in my collection, but I'm going to sell them when i have the time to put them on Ebay.

So here's my Star Wars collection.

The Girls!!!

Ok, I'm a man and when i saw these figures i was astonished of the detail these guys put into the creation of the figures. these are known as Anime/Manga and are created mostly by Japanese artists.

I decided to bring home a few girls with me and here they are for you to enjoy.
Introducing...........The Girls.

You can check my other posts with the detailed pictures of each.

Mighty what?

The next part of my collection is about a curious figure call Mighty Muggs. these were made by hasbro and it looks like they weren't the biggest hit due the fact they stopped the production and now are only available online.

They started with the Star Wars line that includes 42 figures plus 3 exclusives only available online and in the SDCC (San Diego Comic Con convention).

Then they added the Marvel, GI Joe, Indiana Jones and Transformers series. I have all of them except for the last wave of the Marvel series but I'm not in a rush....yet.

I usually open all my figures, but these guys look good even in a box so i will leave them there.

And this is my collection

My DVD collection

Well, this is a bit of a story just to show a few DVD's but I'd like to share it with anyone who wants to read it.

The year is 1996 in Mexico city, I just got my first really well paid job and I went with my mother and my sister to Sears just to look around on a saturday afternoon and of course, I had to got to the electronics department. In there I saw a home theather with a big TV screen and playing Yanni Live at the Acropolis (It was 1996 so remember no plasma TV's or things you can get now) really loud and of course, I bought that day my first TV, DVD player, Surround sound system and a nice pier 1 chair to watch TV.

After that I started to collect DVD's and CD's and I got a fair collection of both (around 150 DVD's and 250 CD's at the time). One day a few years later, I got a call from my now ex-wife telling me someone broke into the apartment and took a bunch of stuff. When I got there, they took all my DVD's and CD's plus money and jewelry.

I got really sad about loosing my collection and i decided not to buy anymore CD's or DVD's ever and even the home theater room equipped with leather chairs, movie posters and a really nice system i spend so much time and money to setup, didn't do the trick for me to really enjoy collecting again.

Time passed and one day when i got back from work I found a little box wrapped with a bow and a card with the word " Cheer up". I opened the box and inside was the DVD that made me start collecting again and the reason for the pictures below.

Last count was 546 DVD's but i haven't updated the list in a few months so i'd say i have around 650 now without including the Blu-ray ones I buy when I really love a movie.

I'd say 60% of the movies i have are still sealed, if I like a movie I just buy it and store it, usually I see it again from Netflix or from Tivo.

And just for the people who is still wondering what is the title of the DVD that started all again...Yanni Live at the Acropolis

Finders Keepers!!!!

Well, these guys are really cute!!! they are the work of Joe Ledbetter and sold by Kidrobot (same as the Labbits). There's only one series with 14 figures and two chase. i just realized i have 13 and i'm missing 3 only, so i'm going to start looking for them.

In the meantime here they are.

They reproduce like LABBITS!!!

Ok, this is the first of my collections. these are called " Labbits" and they love to smoke. These are the work of Frank Kozik and they come in a blind box. What is a blind box? well, it means you don't know what figure you have until you open the box and to make matters worse, there are a few "chase" Labbits that are very special and very hard to find, so you can imagine how many boxes i had to buy in order to get them all, good thing is there's a lot of people collecting these thing and you can always get rid of the ones you don't want o Ebay.

This is the basic one color Labbit
